Chess game

I was playing chess with my old girlfriend.  Since she had never played before it should have been easy to beat her.  She kept tricking me however.  Once she trapped my queen, Once she took my pawn just before I queened it.  Once she lined a bishop and queen up for a checkmate.  I couldn't figure out how she was doing it.
